KCU is proud to work alongside the Looma community and support the Looma Eagles men’s and women’s AFL teams.
In partnership with the CFC Foundation, and with the support of the local community, we helped transform the club’s facilities through the refurbishment of the changerooms and installation of a new kiosk, helping bring home games back to Looma.
For the community, this project represents much more than improved facilities. It’s about bringing people together, strengthening community spirit and creating opportunities for families to gather, celebrate and support their local teams.
The Eagles men’s team reaching the preliminary finals this season was another fantastic achievement and a proud moment for the entire community.
Watch the video to see how collaboration, community spirit and a shared vision helped bring football home to Looma.
In 2026, KCU launched the BRIDGE workshop initiative in Broome to help local Indigenous participants build the skills, confidence and readiness needed to pursue employment in the resources and infrastructure sectors. The workshop was developed after recognising a gap between people applying for site-based roles and being site ready with an understanding of basic workplace expectations.
The five day BRIDGE workshop focuses on:
KCU proudly serves as a sponsor for the prestigious MADALAH Ball. Since its inception in 2016, the MADALAH Ball has been dedicated to raising funds for educational opportunities for Indigenous students in Western Australia.
Through its support, KCU contributes to MADALAH Limited’s mission of providing Secondary and Tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities. These scholarships enable access to premier boarding schools and universities across Australia, fostering academic excellence and empowering Indigenous youth to pursue their dreams.
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, KCU brings people together through culture, connection and shared experiences. A highlight of NAIDOC Week is the Jaffrey family preparing a traditional meal for the crews at the Fortescue Christmas Creek camp.
KCU is proud to continue collaborating with the Bindurrk community assisting with upgrading & installing vital services. Our team volunteer their time each year to help Bindurrk to foster cross-cultural understanding amongst the community’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth.
The installation of electrical infrastructure, its cultural centre and ensuring safety measures throughout the residence, we’re paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for the Bindurrk Community.
